Ever wondered about what methods of contraceptives methods were used in the past? We're used to, IUDs, The Pill, and The Shot, but back in the day, crocodile poop and rabbits blood were the go to. According to MTV BraLess, during the dark ages, tying weasel testicles to your thighs were the best methods any doctor could prescribe. Apparently tying them to a woman and binding them with weasel bones could prevent her from conceiving, the method was never proven to be effective. I do remember learning about women douching with Coke Cola, that was the trend and oddly enough, this was a method concocted at Harvard Medical School. The fuzz was supposed to kill the sperm but.. that just seems a little too sci-fi for me. Did you know, drinking hot mercury or using Lysol in the 1950's was the sure fire way to stop a sperm from entering your vagina? Mercury can kill and Lysol? Moving on, and yes, Crocodile Dung and honey in the vagina. The ancient Egyptians believed inserting croc dung and honey could block the sperm from the egg. PSA: Do not insert honey or soap into your vaginal area, even for cleaning purposes. The vagina is designed to clean itself via vaginal discharge also, using a douche to "clean" can disrupt the flow. Thank you! My favorite method? "The Sneeze,"yes, sneezing could prevent a woman from getting pregnant. I don't know who came up with this method, but I commend them.
