I’m tired! Tired of watching people make excuses for who they are, the way they look, the things they enjoy doing. Tired of others pointing out and picking at the “flaws” of another human being simply because he or she doesn’t fit in with society’s norms. I’m tired of people driving themselves crazy to fulfill some unrealistic ideals that are completely unattainable. I’m tired of the self-hate that I see so many people experience as a result but try to hide it behind carefully filtered and altered images. I’m tired of the illusions; I’ve grown bored with the façade. I’m ready to see more people accept all of who they are: their bodies, their skin, their voices, their dreams; but probably even more importantly, I’m ready to see society loosen its rigid rules on what is considered cool, beautiful, and acceptable and allow people to just be, and embrace them when they do.
